Inmarsat-B

Inmarsat B is the longest running digital service of Inmarsat. It provides two-way direct dial phone, fax and data communication till 9.6 Kbit per second. Coverage area is global, except for the polar regions.  Inmarsat B provides the possibility to send distress calls (Global Maritime Distress Safety System).
