Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) recognise quality
Goodmarriott & Hursthouse, part of the Imtech UK group, is celebrating the success of a recent project, which has been recognised by the Council for Aluminium in Building.
Architects, Burrell, Foley, Fischer Architects has won a CAB Award - Special Prize - Doors, Windows and Curtain Walls, for the work which was carried out by Bluestone plc, with Goodmarriott & Hursthouse on the independent cinema, Broadway, in Nottingham city centre.
The judges were particularly impressed with how this building interacts within the city of Nottingham, and they commented: “In this example of regeneration the new façade has been added to the outside of the building which provides useful spaces and spaces which are uplifting. The quality of the existing building can be seen through the new façade, particularly at night.
"This building sits very well into the grain and texture of Nottingham, which if you proceed into the centre of the city is a delightful place to be in both day and night time. It's great to see an independent cinema win a competition of this kind. It's an example of less aluminium is more."
